Your text is processed on your device
Speech is generated by a neural voice model that runs entirely in your browser. Your text is never uploaded to generate or export speech, and exported audio is saved straight to your device.
1. First-use downloads. On first use the app downloads its code and a one-time voice model from third-party hosts (Hugging Face and the jsDelivr / esm.sh CDNs). Your browser contacts those services, which may log standard request data such as your IP address — but your text is never sent to them.
2. Optional AI enhancement. If — and only if — you use the "Enhance with AI" feature, your text is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you select (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) using your own API key, subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Nothing passes through any server of ours.
3. Your API keys are yours. Any API key you paste is stored only in this browser's local storage and is sent only to the provider you chose. Keys are never shared with us or any third party. You are responsible for keeping them secure and for any usage and charges on your provider account.
4. Acceptable use. You are solely responsible for the text you convert and the audio you generate, and for ensuring you hold the necessary rights to that text. You must not use this tool to create unlawful, harmful, deceptive, defamatory or infringing content, to impersonate any real person or organisation, or in any way that breaches applicable laws or the rights of others.
5. Open-source & licensing. The neural voices (Kokoro) are provided under the permissive Apache-2.0 licence, which allows commercial use. This app is also built on other open-source software under its own licences (including MIT and the GNU GPL) — see “Credits & licences” in the footer, whose terms you agree to comply with.
6. No affiliation. This is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Hugging Face, FFmpeg or any other named party. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
7. No warranty & liability. This software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers accept no liability for any loss or damage (including data loss or costs incurred on third-party accounts) arising from your use of it. You use this tool at your own risk.
